Onward Search, an award-winning staffing agency for creative, marketing and technology professionals, announced Thursday in a press release that the company is an inaugural sponsor for African American Marketing Association (AAMA).
In partnership with AAMA, Onward Search will provide educational opportunities, quality programming, and professional development for African-Americans and other diverse marketing professionals. It will also participate in joint webinars, social media cross-promotion, and co-branded outreach to help drive awareness and increase membership.
According to AAMA’s website, the organization was formed and launched in February 2019 to end poor representation of professional African-American/Black marketing associations in advertising and marketing spaces.
Onward Search looks forward to supporting the organization’s mission. CEO Ken Clark shares that the company is thrilled to join forces with AAMA.
“Our company strives to attract diverse talent, empower voices equally, and give back to non-profits that align with our mission of matching great talent with great companies. The AAMA unites all of these goals and we look forward to working with them to advance the careers of African American marketing and creative professionals,” he said.
The AAMA is a non-profit organization that fosters the growth and professional development of African-American marketers, creatives, and entrepreneurs.
“As we actively engage in increasing our membership, we want to partner with entities that are serious about diversity and inclusion and are aligned with our mission,” said the organization’s founder and president, Michelle Ngome. “We are impressed with Onward Search’s commitment to D&I and look forward to supporting their efforts in areas such as recruitment, supplier diversity, and community visibility.”
“In today’s climate where there are a lot of questions surrounding Black talent, it is important to have this mutually beneficial partnership between AAMA and Onward Search. In addition to taking care of our members, we hope this relationship can serve as an example for all industries,” Ngome told Marcom Weekly.
With regard to the first joint-event as a result of the partnership, she said, “we haven’t solidified the exact date, but it will happen soon. Right now the hot topic among members is career progression.”
