The AI-powered platform for multilingual customer service today announced the appointment of former Vibes chief marketing officer Sophie Vu to the role of chief marketing officer (CMO).

As CMO, Vu will be responsible for leading the strategic direction of marketing and oversee the development and implementation of strategic go-to-market efforts, to guide the company’s expanding international presence in existing and future markets.

Vu previously served as principal for OutForce Marketing, and marketing vice president for Sparkcentral, Inc. Additionally, she held roles at Kony Inc., Dexterra, Vontu Inc., and others. She brings more than two decades of expertise in marketing and customer experience strategy.

“Sophie’s background in customer experience and overall diverse expertise play a vital role in driving Unbabel’s strategic marketing and business initiatives as we continue to accelerate our growth trajectory and further strengthen the company’s global presence,” said Vasco Pedro, CEO and co-founder of Unbabel.

“Most recently, I found my way to Unbabel because I wanted to find a way to make a difference, while continuing to experience and give back to the global community,” Vu said in an Unbabel blog post. “It’s exciting to join a company committed to using technology to solve the global issues of language and cultural bias.”
